The owner of a shop in the Handley Arcade in Mansfield is launching a new initiative there to try to increase footfall and offer shoppers something different.

A monthly Mansfield Antiques, Vintage and Retro Craft Fair will be launched on Saturday, 4th June. It will run on the first Saturday of the month, from 11am, to 3.30pm.

Rowena Searby-Rodgers, proprietor of Charmingly Yours Boutique, said the arcade had a great historic value to Mansfield and was in a good location, close to the Palace Theatre and Mansfield Museum.

She would like to fill the arcade with stalls, from near her shop through to the long-standing Sally Twinkles sewing and haberdashery store.

Rowena, whose shop specialises in one-off vintage, retro, collectables, antiques, art and handcrafted goods, said: “Part of the Charmingly Yours Boutique ethos is about pulling together through hard times. We operate our store by ‘renting’ space to dealers in the antique, vintage, retro or craft market who would struggle to have their own store.

“If anyone would be interested in either the fair or joining our shop, pop along.”

Charmingly Yours Boutique won a creative business award in 2014 and is celebrating four years in the arcade.
