A commemorative plaque has been unveiled in Mansfield’s Four Seasons Shopping Centre in memory of much-loved busker Ray Froggatt.
Ray, (57), died in February and floral tributes were left outside the centre at the spot where he used to perform and sing.
People stood in silent tribute as a mark of respect when his funeral cortege passed his favoured performance area outside the centre.
Centre manager Rebekah O’Neill said: “Ray was a permanent fixture at the centre, bringing a smile to thousands of our shoppers for more than 30 years with his guitar playing and singing.
“Following his death we wanted to do something to remember Ray and the way he entertained the people of Mansfield for so many years.
“We spoke with his partner, Julie, and she was happy for us to install a plaque on the wall where he performed so often and for so long.
“Now there is a permanent reminder of the man who spent more than half his life entertaining us all.”
Originally from Canada, Ray came to the UK in the 1960s and started playing guitar as a young boy.
