£5,000 raised in memory of son for bereavement care

A caring Mansfield couple have thanked the kindness and generosity of local people after reaching a £5,000 charity fundraising target in memory of their son.

Emma Bourn and Matthew Nazar launched the appeal to help bereavement care at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton, and provide gift boxes for newly-bereaved parents after their son, Albie, was born asleep after 36 weeks and three days.

The couple, who have another son, Noah, said: “We really don’t have the words to explain how overwhelmed we are by everyone’s kindness and generosity.

“We can’t believe we are actually writing that we have raised £5,000 towards bereavement care, bereavement charities and gift boxes for bereaved parents. This is the hardest thing we will ever go through and not a day goes by we don’t wish for Albie to be here with us.

“But on our journey we have met the kindest souls who have helped ease the pain.

“We couldn’t have done this without our amazing family and friends. We want to thank every single person who has donated along with all the small companies that donated and gave raffle prizes.

“You are absolutely amazing.
