26.2-mile walk in memory of soulmate Cazi

RAVENSHEAD man Mike Farley is again taking part in the Cancer Research Shine Night Walk in London in memory of his wife Carol, (pictured with him, above) who died from breast cancer.

The 26.2-mile walk on Saturday, 26th September — starting at Southwark Park at 9.20pm and finishing at Old Billingsgate around 4.20am — aims to help Cancer Research UK’s fight against breast cancer.

Mike said his wife, known as Cazi, was “my soulmate, a truly inspirational person who always had time for everyone and lived life to the full.”

He said by the time of the event he would have walked a total of 500 miles in training.

Last year Mike, featured in the NewsJournal, completed the walk in 6hrs 57mins and raised £8,200.

“I would love to equal or beat that total,” he said.

“Nearly everyone is touched by cancer, whether it be through friends, relatives or, in my case, my soulmate.

“We will beat cancer one day and with everyone’s help I hope we can bring that day forward.”
