Employees at the Amazon fulfilment centre in Sutton took part in a tree-planting event at the site as part of the company’s commitment to the environment.
More than 1,500 trees, of 16 varieties, are being planted to improve habitat for wildlife and improve biodiversity in the area.
Representatives from the Sherwood Forest Trust and Nottinghamshire County Council planted the first three trees of the day.
Coun Keith Girling, cabinet member for economic development and asset management, said: “It’s great to see Amazon and its employees take the initiative and arrange an event that will have such a positive impact on the environment.”
Amazon employee Mark Dixon added: “It will be great to see what the site looks like as the trees grow.”
